Adore yourself with a beautiful Mala
made with love
Malas, from the Sanskrit word “mala” meaning garland, are strings of beads which are traditionally used for spiritual practices and meditation for many thousands of years in and around the Indian subcontinent and in various parts of the world. Moreover Malas are used as decoration of meditation shrines and altars and worn as jewelry especially around the neck of yogis and yoga-lovers.
Traditionally Malas are knotted from 108 beads and one guru bead. The number 108 was worshipped in different spiritual traditions and belief systems throughout history, especially in the Vedic tradition.
Malas can be used in meditation to help our mind to become focused and one-pointed, to calm down our monkey mind.
Depending on which material the beads are made of, the Malas have healing properties in the physical, mental and spiritual realms. Malas can be made of different beads, Sandalwood, Tulsi wood, Rudraksha seeds, precious gemstones and so on. Depending on the various materials a Mala varies in its effect on our bodies.
You can choose your Mala depending on the desired effect. Or you allow the Mala to find you, means, choosing the Mala to which you are drawn to, trusting your intuition.
Your Mala is a meaningful reminder of your highest intention and wish in life and a spiritual aid in your meditative practice.
Sandalwood is after African Blackwood the most precious wood worldwide, unlike many other aromatic woods, Sandalwood retains its fragrance, which comes from the wood itself rather than from the leaves and flowers, for decades.
Grown in Asia and East India, Sandalwood was originally used at funeral ceremonies; burnt so the scent could carry the soul into the next life.
Sandalwood has been used as a meditation tool, in the form of incense and Sandalwood Malas, for thousands of years. The soothing scent of the Sandalwood supports relaxation, awareness and calmness of the mind and increases spiritual energy.
Sandalwood activates and balances the root Chakra supporting like this qualities like trust and positive self-confidence. It promotes energy and enthusiasm and increases compassion, equanimity and feeling of peace and serenity.
Sandalwood is effective to treat illnesses of the digestive system, supports a restful sleep and a positive mood.
Rudraksha beeds are very rare and precious. They have been worn and used for meditation, japa mantra, and pujas/fire ceremonies for many centuries. Rudraksha assists in quieting the mind and raise concentration and thus helping to meditate for a long period of time. Buddha wore Rudraksha beads, along with the Dalai Lama, Gandhi, and many enlightened Indian yogis.
Medicinally they are among others known to: reduce heart disease and lower the blood pressure, increase mental clarity and memory, calm the central nervous system, quiet the mind, increase immunity.
